Neptune is the ruling planet of Pisces and is associated with deception, illusions, spirituality and psychic phenomena. The planet Pluto is the ruling planet of Scorpio and is associated with the concept of transformation.

If you’re a Pisces, you probably have a lot of friends, as you have an accepting and malleable nature that makes it easy for other people to be around you. A Pisces is more likely to go with the flow rather than swim upstream to try to change people or their environment. They can be more emotional, rather than rational and analytical. They don’t thrive in highly disciplined environments. Nine-to-five jobs are anathema to the Pisces nature. They are drawn to situations where they can use their artistic gifts and their appreciation of art and nature. They love luxury and pleasure. They can think on their feet and an enjoy new situations and change. They are happiest in the fields of music, literature or art. Not that tough for steadfast.

Who’s the ideal partner for the Pisces. Not the rugged, caveman type, for sure. A relationship with a Pisces will be meeting of the mind and spirit, less so than the body. Arguably, the most well-known is the Rider-Waite tarot cards. These decks were created in 1909 by A.E. Waite, a prominent member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn occult group. He chose artist Pamela Colman-Smith to craft the 78-card deck, slightly tweaking certain details from earlier decks. For example, the “Pope” card became the “Hierophant” and “Popess” became “High Priestess.” Waite also switched the Strength and Justice cards (Strength became card 8 and Justice card 11). The Minor Arcana numbered suit cards had a full repertoire of pictorial scenes, rather than being merely suited or numbered. For years, this was the only readily available deck in America and with its comprehensive book of symbolism, it became the beginners “must-have” deck. Today, there are other decks similar to the Rider-Waite, including the Universal Waite tarot deck, Golden Tarot, Aquarian tarot deck, Nigel Jackson Tarot, Gilded Tarot and Golden Rider, to name a few.

Experienced tarot card readers often mention they’ve outgrown Rider-Waite tarot decks over time. Those looking for deeper tarot card meanings might want to try the Thoth tarot deck designed by famous occultist Aleister Crowley. So there I was, in the coffee shop downtown. I was lounging in a massive cushy chair and scanning my laptop screen. It was astrological forecast time. But not exactly intentional. You see, my wife sent me an email that contained a link. I clicked on it to read my astrological forecast. Yikes, was this thing ever vague! I love the way they always inform you of random future events. The passage may say that you’ll acquire a good job soon, or get over a hill in your relationship, or possible eat a decent slice of pizza. Do any of these ring a bell with you right no. The reality is they probably do. These same things happen to numerous people each and every day. Imagine the population an astrological forecast is applying to. Who all is it directed toward? A freaking lot of people. It’s bound to be correct in some way, shape or form regarding some of them. How can it not be? I’m a Libra and so are millions of other people. My horoscope may sound utterly bogus when I read it, but them someone else could make total sense of it and become a believer just like that. Astrology isn’t used to predict the future. It’s used to help you gain insight and understanding into the patterns and directions your life takes. It’s not an absolute, but it’s an indicator. Each zodiac sign has been given certain personality traits, strengths and weaknesses. These are reflected in the astrology symbols that accompany them. They are mostly of animals but not all. Aries (March 21-April 19) is the sign of the ram and is illustrated with its face and horns. Leo (July 23-August 22) has the head and mane of a lion and Sagittarius (November 22-December 21) is the centaur, a mythical creature that is half human and half horse, carrying a bow and arrow. Taurus (April 20-May 20) is the face and horns of a bull, Virgo (August 23-September 22) is a virgin maiden, holding a wheat sheaf and Capricorn (December 22- January 19) shows the tail and horns of a goat.

Gemini (May 21-June 20) is the sign of the twins and is symbolized by the Roman numeral of two, which also represents the pillars of knowledge. The traditional sign of Libra (September 23-October 22) is the scales and the astrology symbol for this also denotes the setting sun. Aquarius (January 20-February 18) is the water bearer and the symbol shows ripples of water. Cancer (June 21-July22) is the crab, signified by crab’s claws and by Ouroboros, an ancient representation of a serpent that swallows its own tail and makes the shape of a circle. Just as the lion is the king of the jungle, Leo is the king of the Zodiac. Leo is a fire sign, falling right in the hottest part of the summer at the center of the year which is perfect, since Leo loves to be the center of attention.

Leo is a born leader, cheerful and optimistic. They conquer obstacles the same way a lion conquers their foes like a hunter, who spots his prey, stalks, and pounces. Leos tend to be very focused on their goals and ambitions.

Leo is a model of generosity, with one of the biggest hearts of the entire Zodiac. They love to share. They are also the life of the party, always prepared to order a round of drinks or offer up a hilarious joke.

Leos like to do things on a grand scale, with special attention to clothing and cars. Leos attract attention, and the things they own tend to reflect this.

One weakness that Leos need to beware of is arrogance. Being natural leaders, Leos can sometimes fall into the trap of expecting other people to take care of those annoying details that should be beneath them. Not only are they natural leaders, they expect to be the leader, and will fight for that position when challenged. They don’t like changes to the routine once their leadership role has been established.

These are the same things that haunt a Leo through a career. Imagine riding in a speeding train, and passing a slower train. Both trains are moving straight ahead, but as the trains are passing, the slower train appears to be moving backwards, at least from the point of view of the riders on the fast train.

This same effect occurs with the planets. As the Earth passes (or is passed by) other planets in the solar system, for a while, they appear to slow in their path across the Zodiac. Then they stop altogether, and backtrack against their paths for a short while, and stop again. Finally, they get back up to speed again, and return to where they started.

The entire period from the point where the planet started to slow down, through the backwards motion, until the planet catches up to itself and passes the point where it started from is called Retrograde. It’s a fairly common and straightforward event in astronomy, but it takes on a whole new meaning in astrology.

Retrograde periods are traditionally regarded as times when humans have little control. This is when things that are fated to happen actually happen.

Mercury, for example, turns retrograde three times a year. From February 14th, 2007, to March 28th, 2007, Mercury is in retrograde. On March 8th, 2007, it finishes the backwards motion and begins moving forward again.

Mercury rules information conversation, communication, thinking and education. When Mercury is in retrograde, these things will have glitches thrown in disrupted communications, collapsed negotiations, and general misunderstandings, usually because some vital piece of information has been lost.

Venus turns retrograde every eighteen months. During this period, emotions which Venus rules become muted. Venus in retrograde is the wrong time of the year to redecorate, start a relationship, or get married.

The planets beyond Venus have longer retrograde periods, that are further and further apart (Saturn, for example, is in retrograde from December 6th, 2006 until August 7th, 2007).

The Azure Dragon of the East represents the season of Spring and the east. There is no traditional relationship between the Azure Dragon of the East and the mythological yellow dragon of the Emperor.

There are seven mansions, which make up the Azure Dragon of the East. These mansions are referred to as Horn, Neck, Root, Room, Heart, Tail and Winnowing Basket.

Each mansion is further broken into Asterisms. The Asterisms in the Horn mansion are as follows: Horn, Flat Road, Celestial Farmland, Recommending Virtuous men, Tripod of the Zhou, Celestial Gate, Justice, Arsenal, Pillars, Railings and Southern Gate. The Asterisms of this mansion each contain as many as eleven stars. The constellations in this Asterism are known to the west as Virgo, Hydra, Centaurus, Lupus, and Coma Berenices.

The Asterisms of the neck contain no more than seven stars. They are the Neck, Great Horn, Left Conductor, Right Conductor, Trials, Gate of Yang and Executions.

The next Mansion is the Root. Its Asterisms are named as follows: Root, Celestial Milk, Twinkling Indicator, Celestial Lance, Mattress of the Emperor, Boats and Lake, Battle Chariots, Imperial Guards, Chariots and Cavalry, Celestial Spokes Chariots and Cavalry General.

The Room mansion contains the Asterisms of Room, Lock, Door Bolt, Punishment, Eastern Door, Western Door, Sun and Retinue. They are most usually associated with the modern constellations of Scorpius, Libra and Lupus.

The mansion of Heart is the smallest mansion, it contains only two Asterisms. These are Heart and Group of Soldiers. These equate to the modern constellations of Scorpius and Lupus

The mansion of the Tail is made up of six Asterisms. They are named Tail, Changing Room, Tortoise, Celestial River, Fuyue, and Fish.

The final mansion is made of three Asterisms. Winnowing Basket, Chaff and Pestle relate to the western constellations of Sagittarius, Ophiuchus and Ara

The White Tiger of the West is the third symbol of Chinese constellations as used in astrology. It represents the West and the season of Autumn.

The White Tiger is made up of seven Mansions. They are the Legs, the Bond, the Stomach, the Hairy Head, the Net, Turtle Beak, and the Three Stars.

The Legs mansion is made up of the following Asterisms: Legs, Outer Fence, Celestial Pigsty, Master of Constructions, the Southern Military Gate, the Flying Corridor, the Auxiliary Road, Wang Liang, and the Whip. Those in the West would recognize these stars as the constellations Andromeda, Pisces, Cetus, and Cassiopeia.

The Bond Mansion is made up of six Asterisms: The Bond, the Official in Charge of the Forest, the Official in Charge of Pasturing, the Square Celestial Granary, the Ricks of Grain, and the Great General of Heaven. The starts that make up this Mansion lie in the modern constellations of Aries, Pisces, Cetus, Fornax, and Andromeda.

The Stomach Mansion contains the following Asterisms. The Stomach, the Celestial Foodstuff, the Circular Celestial Granary, the Mausoleum, the Celestial Boat, Heap of Corpses, and Stored Water. All of these stars can be found in Aries, Taurus, Cetus, and Perseus,

Next in line for the Tiger Mansions is the Hairy Head, made up of the Hairy Head, Celestial River, Moon, Yin Force, Hay, Celestial Meadows, the Rolled Tongue, the Celestial Slander, and the Whetstone. These stars are in the constellations Taurus, Aries, Cetus, Perseus, and Andromeda.

The Net Mansion is one of the largest, comprising the Net, the Whisper, the Celestial Street, Celestial Tally, the Feudal Kings, the Celestial High Terrace, the Interpreters of Nine Dialects, the Five Chariots, the Pillars, the Celestial Pier, the Pool of Harmony, the Celestial Gate, the Banner of Three Stars, the Imperial Military Flag, and the Celestial Orchard.

The Turtle Beak Mansion is made up of the the Turtle Beak, the Deity in Charge of Monsters, and the Seat Flags asterisms.

Finally, the Three Stars mansion contains the Three Stars, Punishment, Jade Well, Screen, Military Well, Toilet, and Excrement asterisms.

Webster’s Dictionary defines “Mercurial” as “characterized by rapid and unpredictable changeableness of mood.” With Mercury ruling, there’s no better definition of Gemini, either. Gemini encompasses both sides of human nature, the light and the dark, the cheerful and the somber, and this duality appears in every aspect of the life of a Gemini.
Gemini can change their moods and attitudes as easily as others change their socks. One moment, they are sociable and cheerful; the next, moody and restless. They tend to be frustrated with people who straddle the fence, because they know where they stand at that precise moment. Of course, they may be on the other side of that fence the next day, but that’s a different subject.
A Gemini can–and likely does–handle multiple tasks with ease. They are at least as comfortable multi-tasking than most people are with a single project. In fact, they would likely get bored handling a single task, and would be miserable at rote memorization or dull monotonous chores.
With their gifts for communication and imagination, Gemini are natural storytellers. They have a keen sense of humor, plenty of tact, and a flair for diplomacy. What they don’t have are persistence and patience. If they’re not careful, their tendencies towards moodiness and restlessness can be their undoing.

Aquarius, the water bearer, is ruled by both Saturn and Uranus, and the two planets give Aquarians a unique disposition. Thanks to Saturn, those born under this sign have a knack for being cool and level-headed. Uranus, on the other hand, directs them to be unconventional and unique.

Aquarius is a humanitarian, there’s no doubt about that. The Aquarian likes to make a difference, or even just spend lots of time discussing it, since they are also idealists and dreamers. They also have a flair for logical thinking, which greatly helps to support their arguments.

Aquarius hates hierarchies, and refuses to be placed on a pedestal. Their logical, analytical minds are perfect for logic and computer work. Cancer is symbolized by the Crab, because the Crab was believed to carry his house on his back. And, like their namesake, the home is very important to Cancer.

Those born under this sign are heavily focused on home life. Cancers are the domestic experts of the Zodiac, and would be the first to know how to fix an appliance or which drapes match the sofa. Unfortunately, they also have a reputation as packrats, because they attach emotions to their belongings. Every old photo becomes a cherished heirloom because of the memories that go with it.

Cancers are sensitive and caring. Only Pisces comes close to the sensitivity of Cancer. Crabs are the truest and closest companions, always coming to the aid of their friends, ready to bail them out at a moment’s notice.

The crab’s defense is to curl up behind his shell. Cancers have a reputation for being tough and unfeeling because they keep their emotions hidden—for their own protection, of course.
