Wiccan spells: Just another term for "the law of attraction" (Idea that is expressed in, "The Secret")
I've been reading up on the Wiccan Neo-pagan religion and all the spells I've seen either rely on solely on belief, visualisation of goals and certain attributes (such as certain spells on certain moon phases) to increase the users own self-belief that it is real.
It's been shown, in the popular cult book "The Secret" and this main idea is expressed as the law of attraction - that is, if you visualise on one goal or idea it is more likely to present itself in your life.
Even though "The Secret" provides a semi-mystic and unrealistic explanation to this stated "law", such as Wicca does also, it also provides some explanation for such things as Christian prayer and the belief that "my religion is real" because I asked for this or that, and "magically" it happened the next day.
Can anyone provide some further insight? Thanks so much.
I think you make an excellent point actually! Christian prayers and Wiccan spells are really no different if you want to get down to basics. Its just a difference in belief that can cause the majority to become hostile to those who don't agree with them.
The power of one's will is so strong spiritually, it truly is. But it should only be used for good and never to harm or bear ill will towards others, because then that negative energy manifests and comes back to destroy the ill-intentioned person who sought to cast spiritual negativity on another.
