Spell Strength
Asatru believers often celebrate their religion with Asatru products such as runes, pendants, jewelry, and other items. But finding these rare treasures is not always easy. Online, however, more and more Asatru-related websites are popping up and offering a variety of Asatru products to fit every occasion.
What is Asatru?
Asatru, also called Odinism, is a Nordic religion native to the Teutonic people. Asatru abounds in northern Europe and affects the everyday lives and rituals of its believers. It is an ancient polytheistic religion with no known founding date, but the modern movement began during the 1970s. An Icelandic sheep farmer and Asatru priest named Sveinbjorn Beinteinsson founded the revival movement. Small groups of believers are located in Iceland, Scandinavia, North America, Denmark, and Norway. The core beliefs center around four main deities -Odin, Thor, Freyr, and Freyja- and other minor gods. The old religion is often associated with the Vikings.
Types of Asatru Products
There are many types of Asatru products on the market today. Asatru books for history and/or enjoyment include The Village; Prose Edda (revealing tales from Norse Mythology); Asatru, The Hidden Fortress; Poetic Edda (essays about the Old Norse religion); Yule; and Havamal.
Wooden and stone rune sets are also popular for individual purchase or gift items. Rune stones in ancient times were large boulders with a flat surface decorated with runic inscriptions, or Viking writings, for memorials and other purposes. Today, small versions of rune stones are available for inspiration, good vibes, and to use in a ritual called "rune casting." Great for gifts are the rune stone sets that include an instruction booklet that gives the meaning of each rune and instructions for rune castings. Rune stones come in a variety of colors.

Rune charms are great for warring off bad vibes while bringing pleasant experiences into a person's life. There are rune charms for protection, wealth and good fortune, happy love and friendship, creating opportunities, gaining knowledge, good luck with games and/or gambling, good health, granting wishes, strength and advancement, self confidence, finding love, and protection while on a journey. These make very affordable Asatru gifts, usually less than $10.
Similarly, there are Asatru pendants for courage and strength, inner strength, protection, and success. These are usually priced between $10 and $25.
Viking Jewelry
Another unique Asatru product is Viking jewelry. There are gold chains and a variety of Viking pendants to celebrate ancient practices. Some popular Viking jewelry includes the Dragonhead boat pendant, the Freyja pendant, the Nidhogg pendant, the Viking Axe pendant, and the Odin's Spell Sword pendant. These range from $10 to $30.
Other Asatru products that make great gift items include Yule products, apparel with Asatru themes and designs, bumper stickers, buttons, hats, bags, stationary, and more.
